During July 11-13, 2024, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) hosted the International Conference on Applied Mathematics (ICAM 2024). The conference was organized in collaboration with Mississippi State University (USA), Harbin Normal University (China), and Incheon National University (South Korea).
Dr. Tran Trong Dao, President of TDTU; Dr. Vo Hoang Duy, Vice president of TDTU and Head of the Conference Organizing Committee; Prof. DSc Phan Quoc Khanh, Chairman of the Junior Council for Professorship and Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thanh Toan, Person in charge of the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics; along with leaders from various faculties, departments, lecturers, and researchers, attended the conference.
ICAM 2024 serves as a bridge for exchange and cooperation among mathematicians domestically and internationally, contributing to the development of the mathematics field within the country. The conference attracted more than one hundred mathematicians from countries across all five continents, including Saudi Arabia, India, Poland, Chile, Taiwan (China), South Korea, the United States, Japan, South Africa, Pakistan, China, Thailand, and Australia, along with many mathematicians from domestic universities and research institutes. Over 60 high-quality papers related to applied mathematics were selected for presentation at the conference.
“This event is a scientific forum organized specifically for experts in various fields of applied mathematics. This special occasion offers an opportunity to meet in person, exchange ideas, and disseminate scientific achievements to promote academic development in applied mathematics, particularly Algebra, Optimization, Numerical Analysis, Applied Analysis, and Statistics. I am very pleased to see the conference attracting many speakers and participants from many countries around the world,” said Dr. Tran Trong Dao during the opening ceremony.
Aiming to become an internationally renowned research university, TDTU has strongly developed international cooperation and is frequently chosen as the venue for many prestigious scientific events at both national and international levels. The activities during ICAM 2024 will contribute to promoting cooperation between Ton Duc Thang University and various universities and research institutes around the world.
