On the morning of January 23rd, 2019, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) had a visit for exchanging and learning experiences in building and managing facilities in general; and management of sports facilities in particular with Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU). The representatives from TDTU are Dr. Vo Hoang Duy, Vice President, and Heads of Departments such as: Facility Management, Library, and Dormitory. The representatives from Hanoi University of Science and Technology are Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Khang, Vice Rector and Assoc. Prof. Tran Duc Huy, Head of Department of facility. This is the 5th visit of Hanoi University of Science and Technology for learning university autonomy and management experience from TDTU.
The model of university autonomy was thoroughly discussed. In order to become autonomy, universities must establish their key objectives and core tasks, improve education efficiency together with the best organization, usage and exploitation of facilities and services. In addition, in order for the autonomy model to be improved and developed more sustainably in the coming years, the University should also make policies to effectively and reasonably use time and budget, strictly supervise reward and punishment mechanism, strengthen international integration, build a system of standardizing all university activities in accordance with the current standards of the world.
The representatives from Hanoi University of Science and Technology were happy to exchange and discuss with TDTU on autonomy and management model, thereby gaining more important experience helping to change and improve the upcoming development direction of the University on autonomy.
Dr. Vo Hoang Duy thanked Hanoi University of Science and Technology for taking time to visit and exchange experience and affirmed that TDTU is always willing to support other universities in terms of autonomy and effective university management experience. TDTU hoped that Hanoi University of Science and Technology will soon develop sustainably and become more successful on the path of university autonomy together with TDTU and other leading universities in Vietnam to motivate the reform and development of Vietnam's education system in the coming decades.
