Education & Times Newspaper: Ton Duc Thang University Aims for 100% of the Study Programs to be Accredited according to International Standards.
This ambitious target was officially approved in the Resolution of the 4th Party Congress of Ton Duc Thang University for the 2025-2030 term.
The 4th Party Congress of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) for the 2025-2030 term was held on the morning of February 26.
This Congress was one of the key Congresses under the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, contributing to the series of Congresses for the 2025-2030 term leading up to the 14th National Party Congress.
The event was attended by Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan – Vice Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Mr. Dang Ngoc Tung – Former Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Member of the TDTU Council, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Hong – Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City University and College Bloc, along with representatives of the Party Committee, University Council, and Presidential Board, as well as 100 official delegates and 66 guests.
According to the report presented at the Congress, during the 2020-2025 term, the Party Committee of the University successfully led and directed the fulfillment of its set objectives, particularly in political misions and Party building, among others.
Notable achievements include advancements in education, training, scientific research, and accreditation rankings.
TDTU has maintained and achieved high rankings in both international and regional university rankings, such as top 100 globally for sustainable development, ranked 95th out of 1,023 universities and leading Vietnamese institutions in interdisciplinary research for 2025, top 200 best universities in Asia, top 200 best young universities in the world, top 601-800 best educational institutions worldwide according to THE 2024, among others.
Up to now, TDTU has had 22 research groups in various fields. The total number of scientific papers published in the WoS/Scopus database since 2020 has reached 7,586 (as of December 1, 2024). Also, 10 patents have been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), among others.
Currently, TDTU has two international journals, including the Journal of Information and Telecommunication (JIT) indexed in the WoS (ESCI, Q1) database with an Impact Factor (IF) of 2.7, and the Journal of Advanced Engineering and Computation (JAEC) awarded 1 point by the State Council for Professorship in the field of Mechanics.
The University has promoted international conferences to foster academic exchange, strengthen research collaboration, and enhance its global standing.
Until now, the University has successfully organized 70 international conferences, including 32 within the five-year term.
Many major conferences initiated and first organized by TDTU have become annual international conferences in their respective fields and are now hosted in different countries worldwide, such as AETA, CUTE, ICFE, AsiaPharm, and ICAS. The proceedings of these conferences are indexed in the WoS/Scopus database.
The 4th Party Congress of Ton Duc Thang University approved the strategic direction and objectives for the 2025-2030 term.
Notably, the University aims to successfully transit the University into Ton Duc Thang University System by 2030.
Additionally, the University sets a goal for 100% of the undergraduate programs to be accredited according to international standards.
According to Ton Duc Thang University, the 4th Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term marks a significant milestone in the University’s journey toward sustainable development.
This event not only serves as a source of inspiration, motivation, and guidance for lecturers, staff, and students to stay united and overcome challenges but also aligns with the University’s 30th anniversary celebration (September 24, 1997- September 24, 2027).
Furthermore, it marks a pivotal milestone in the successful implementation of the University’s 4th five-year development plan (2025–2030), reaffirming TDTU’s commitment to sustainable growth.
The TDTU Party Executive Committee for the 2025-2030 term consists of 13 members, with Dr. Vu Anh Du, Chairman of the University Council, serving as the Party Secretary.
