Ton Duc Thang University Welcomed and Worked with the University of Žilina, Slovakia

On October 25, 2024, a delegation from the University of Žilina, Slovakia (UZ), led by Prof. Jozef Ristvej, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Marketing, visited and held a discussion at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU). Representing TDTU were Dr. Vo Hoang Duy – Vice President, along with the representatives and leaders from various Units of the University.

During the session, both sides discussed proposals and potential future collaborations aligned with each partner’s strengths and needs. Specifically, in terms of training, UZ professors and lecturers will visit and be in charge of teaching courses delivered in English, present at workshops/seminars for students in the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the Faculty of Information Technology, as well as in the graduate program at TDTU.

Both sides are also looking to establish student – lecturer exchange programs in various forms, including cultural exchanges, one-semester exchanges, internships, and collaborative research projects in Electrical & Electronics and Information Technology. In terms of research, they discussed potential collaboration on academic activities such as conferences, workshops, and seminars. UZ and TDTU both expressed their interest in forming joint research groups and supporting the publication of scientific works.

The University of Žilina, Slovakia is a prestigious higher education institution with a strong ranking in global university rankings. In the fields of science and research, the university is currently working on nearly 200 national projects and 65 international research projects, hosting around 60 scientific and academic events each year. The University hosts 15 research centers and 2 major research institutes.

Previously, on October 3, 2024, the TDTU delegation visited and worked at UZ, where they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to cooperate on training, research, and the exchange of professors and scientists in areas such as Intelligent Transportation Systems, Transportation Infrastructure Development, and Traffic Management & Logistics.
