Seminar “Segregating Waste at Source”

Environmental pollution is a significant challenge for many countries today. The growing problem of household solid waste not only mars urban aesthetics but also pollutes land, water, and air, contributing to increased greenhouse gas emissions.

Segregating waste at its source brings several benefits, such as reducing waste treatment costs, conserving landfill land area, and minimizing pollution of soil, groundwater, and air. It also helps to create sources of alternative materials and generation of electricity.

Regulations on waste segregation at the source encourage both organizations and individuals to maximize the reuse potential of all types of waste. To raise awareness and teach effective waste segregation at both the University and home, the Department of Student Affairs is organizing an environmental protection seminar titled “Segregating Waste at Source”.
