In order to create a new playground with design experience for architecture students and young architects, Architecture Magazine - Vietnam Association of Architects cooperates with some universities that offer architectural training programs to organize a Green Summer Design Studio 2022 with the theme of Cohousing Toward Green Building Standard. Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) is the co-organizer of the event and will be the venue for the two most important activities of the Design Studio.

Content:

- Designing Cohousing toward green building standard for workers or students in Ho Chi Minh City.

- Objects of design: Model of a building, or a cluster of houses in the form of Cohousing toward LOTUS green building standard such as Low-rise apartment buildings (no more than 5 floors), linked and block-coupled houses.

- Design location: Ho Chi Minh National University Dormitory, Thu Duc City.

Participants:

Universities with architecture training programs include TDTU, Viet Duc University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, Thu Dau Mot University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, Van Lang University, Hanoi Open University. Architecture Magazine-Vietnam Association of Architects and Vietnam Young Architects Club are co-organizers and provide media support.

Timeline:

- July 9, 2022: Opening of the GREEN Summer Design Studio 2022 and thematic Seminars on Cohousing; Housing toward LOTUS green building standard.

- July 10, 2022: Visiting typical architectural works and having practical experience at Diamond Lotus Riverside project in District 8, Ho Chi Minh City; visiting Ho Chi Minh National University Dormitory.

- July 16, 2022: Quick design and brainstorming for housing at Ton Duc Thang University.

- July 17, 2022: Judging and Award Ceremony.
