Inauguration Ceremony of VFIS and the Start of New School Year

On Monday morning August 12, 2019, Vietnam-Finland International School (VFIS) is organising the Inauguration Ceremony and starting the new school year of 2019-2020. The ceremony participants are the Director of the Finnish National Agency for Education, the Ambassador and Embassy officials of Finland in Vietnam, the Leaders of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) and provinces, Department Of Education and Training of HCMC and provinces, the school boards of high schools partnered with Ton Duc Thang University, the Presidential Board of Ton Duc Thang University and VFIS, and distinguished teachers, parents and students.

VFIS is the first Finnish standard school in Vietnam, invested in entirely by TDTU, and established under the Decision No. 5834 / QD-HCMC dated November 7, 2016 of HCMC People's Committee. This school not only signifies an important breakthrough in the relationship of educational cooperation between Vietnam and Finland, but also in the bright future of Vietnam's international education integration, offering more opportunities for Vietnamese students to access the most advanced educational environment in the world.

In the school year of 2019-2020, VFIS welcomes its first cohort of nearly 200 students ranging from grade 1 to grade 5. Previously, VFIS also successfully organized the nature-themed Summer Programme 2019 for nearly 90 students. The students enjoyed 7 weeks full of exciting and dynamic experiences to help them enhance social and behavioral skills, care for the environment, and get acquainted with the school's culture of equality and cooperation, thereby forming healthy study and living habits. If this is any indication, we are confident the students are excited and ready to begin the new school year starting on August 19, 2019.
