From August 21 to August 26, 2023, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) organized the “Student Orientation Week” for all students, welcoming the new academic year 2023-2024.
President, Dr. Tran Trong Dao and the lecturers in the Presidential Board attended and directly shared necessary information, welcomed and encouraged students in the new academic year 2023-2024.
During the sessions within the framework of the “Student Orientation Week”, the Organizing Committee conducted talk shows, including one named “Proud to be a TDTU student, preserving and promoting TDTU’s values”, which was attended by the Leaders of Departments, Centers, Institutes of the University to directly exchange information with students enrolled in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022.
The lecturers and students reviewed the outstanding accomplishments of TDTU in the academic year 2022-2023 during the combined events, fostering pride in the University and increasing each student’s sense of duty to preserve and promote those accomplishments. The contents of educating students according to the Three Ethical Conduct, the 5 identification characteristics of students: Discipline, Politeness, Professionalism, Creativity, Devotion, and the student code of conduct are already the aesthetics, core values, and cultural characteristics that TDTU must continue to promote, preserve and propagate. In addition to helping students better grasp the University’s rules and regulations, the “Student Orientation Week” also enables them to gain a firm understanding of their rights, responsibilities, and sense of civic duty in order to fulfill their training commitments.
On the occasion of the start of the academic year 2023-2024, faculties organized meetings and welcomed students the week after this orientation week, from August 23 to August 26, 2023. Meetings were held to review achievements from the previous academic year and to discuss with students about the objectives and directions of activities in the new academic year.
The orientation week is an annual activity to welcome students into the new academic year, and at the same time help students understand basic issues of concerns in the political - economic - social life of the country, on that basis, apply creatively and appropriately to study at the University. It also raise students’ awareness and sense of responsibility in seriously implementing the guidelines and directions of the Party, policies and laws of the Government.
