On September 8, 2023, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held the Conference on the Joint Teaching of the Defense and Security Education Program for the Academic Year 2023-2024.

Attending the Conference were Senior Lieutenant Colonel Cao Van Phat - Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ho Chi Minh City High Command, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City National Defense and Security Education Council; Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Vy Hoang - Assistant for National Defense and Security Education of the Militia and Self-Defense Department, Standing Member of the National Defense and Security Education Council of Military Region 7; Lieutenant Colonel Le Minh Tien - Deputy Commander, District 7 Military Executive Committee; and delegates who are leaders of universities and colleges that are in cooperation with TDTU’s Center for National Defense and Security Education in teaching the defense and security education program.

From TDTU, there were Dr. Vu Anh Duc - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council; Dr. Tran Trong Dao - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, the University President, and Director of the Center for National Defense and Security Education; Colonel Nguyen Tien Loc - Vice Director of the Center for National Defense and Security Education; and leaders of functional units.

The delegation observed the actual teaching activities and visited the school facilities to ensure the learning of the National Defense and Security Education courses at TDTU, such as the parade ground system, training grounds, models of learning tools, teaching and learning equipment, course books, documents, cafeteria, housing areas for living, and studying and training under the military lifestyle and environment.

At the conference, Colonel Nguyen Tien Loc reported the learning plans for the academic year 2023-2024 of all colleges and universities. Dr. Tran Trong Dao chaired the discussion with the delegates to exchange issues related to accommodation management, schedule registration, and the study and training of students from September 2023 to August 2024.

Implementing Decision No. 2861/QĐ/BQP dated August 24, 2021 by the Minister of National Defense on the joint teaching of the National Defense and Security Education program, the Center for National Defense and Security Education under TDTU is assigned to teach this program to students of 24 universities and colleges in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai Province.
