Ton Duc Thang University signed a cooperation agreement with Marche Polytechnic University (Italy)

On the afternoon of December 2, 2023, the Faculty of Industrial Fine Arts - Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) together with Marche Polytechnic University (UNIVPM) in Italy held a signing ceremony to implement “The Road to Rome 2024”, and at the same time, the scientific conference on “Eastern and Western cultural interference in art & design” also happened.

The event welcomed the presence of Prof. Antonello Alici - Dean of the Faculty of Architectural Heritage Conservation, Head of the UNIVPM Delegation on UNIVPM side. From TDTU, there were Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Van 9 (MA) - Dean of The Faculty of Industrial Fine Arts, Dr. Nguyen Minh Hieu - Lecturer in Interior Design, and representatives of TDTU lecturers and students.

Speaking at the ceremony, representative of UNIVPM - Prof. Antonello Alici shared that the signing session was an opportunity to cooperate and develop the relationship between TDTU and UNIVPM in the fields of architecture and art. That was the chance to give students of the Faculty of Industrial Fine Arts valuable knowledge about their profession.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Van expressed her joy in this successful cooperation and said that the Faculty of Industrial Fine Arts has had dynamic activities in 2023 through signing agreements with many famous foreign universities. This was also an event that not only promoted international cooperation, but also provided opportunities to study in Europe for TDTU students.

On this occasion, Prof. Antonello Alici shared about the seminar on "Italian Contemporary Design" in the scientific conference on “Eastern and Western cultural interference in art & design”, introducing to lecturers and students of the Faculty of Industrial Fine Arts some of the contemporary trends and designs in Italy, shown through unique architectural works of libraries and museums in this country. He also provided a practical perspective and design philosophy on the issue of preserving historical buildings, and methods of renovating and restoring these buildings in a modern style but still possessing the qualities of ancient architecture. The seminar helped students gain ample knowledge about Italian culture, contemporary artistic designs, and grasp human needs and desires from a practical and emotional perspective.
