On October 8, 2023, the scientific community celebrated the news that Dr. Thai Hoang Chien from Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) had been recognized as one of the globally influential scientists, maintaining his position in the list of Top 100,000 scientists published by the metrics group of professors from Stanford University (USA) in the Plos Biology journal for five consecutive years, from 2019 to 2023.

According to Vnexpress newspaper (Faces of Vietnam in the list of 'Most Influential People in the World' for 5 Consecutive Years - VnExpress), only 8 Vietnamese scientists have achieved this honor in the list of individuals with global influence.

Dr. Thai Hoang Chien currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Institute for Advanced Study in Technology, TDTU. Additionally, he is the Executive Editor of the Journal of Advanced Engineering and Computation (JAEC), which is affiliated with TDTU. Presently, JAEC has been included in the Asean Citation Index since 2019. Moreover, JAEC has been listed in the score-based scientific journal category (0-1 point) by the State Council for Professorship for the Mechanical Engineering sector in 2023.

In 2023, Dr. Thai Hoang Chien was ranked in the Top 1% of scientists worldwide in the field of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering by the reputable website Research.com, a trusted source for ranking scientists. Every year, Research.com ranks top scientists in various scientific fields, including 24 different disciplines. In 2023, a total of 14 Vietnamese scientists were ranked in 6 different fields, including Computer Science, Engineering and Technology, Environmental Science, Materials Science, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, as well as Public Health. In the field of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Dr. Chien achieved the rank of 1288. In addition to his achievement in 2023, Dr. Chien was ranked in the list of the top 13 Vietnamese scientists working domestically by Research.com in 2022.
