Closing Ceremony of AUN-QA Program Assessment

On the morning of 01 October 2021, after five days of official assessment, the AUN University Network (AUN-QA) together with Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) organized the Closing Ceremony of the 236th online AUN-QA assessment for three TDTU’s undergraduate programs: Architecture, Graphic Design, and Occupational Safety and Health.

Representatives of AUN-QA attending the Closing Ceremony included: Prof. Dr. Anel Onesimo O. Uy, Lead Assessor of ASEAN University Network (AUN), AUN Council Members, Secretariat and 6 AUN-QA assessors.

AUN-QA assessors presented preliminary results of 3 programs, in which they highly valued TDTU's reputation for employers, and educational programs which are built in an international, synchronous direction, based on the contributions of stakeholders.

Several of comments include: (1) The training programs ensure the principle of "learner-centered", and periodically update with changes and requests from stakeholders; (2) Academic staff have good competencies, and active support staff are always ready to provide prompt and effective assistance; (3) Students are well-equipped with soft skills, international IT and English communication skills; (4) Teaching and learning conditions are always guaranteed and well maintained; TDTU has a variety of extracurricular activities, internships and practices at enterprises to help graduates be active, confident and quickly integrate into the environment and culture of the businesses; and (5) 100% of the graduates get the job immediately and meet the business requirements.

Besides, AUN-QA assessors pointed out some areas for improvement to help the University and programs improve better, update according to the trends of integration and adapt to the 4th industrial revolution.

On behalf AUN-QA and assessor team, Prof. Dr. Anel Onesimo O. Uy, Lead Assessor of ASEAN University Network (AUN), a member of AUN-QA thanked TDTU’s leaders, academic staff, support staff and students, especially those directly involved in three assessed programs. He hopes that the results of this assessment will contribute to the University and programs for better teaching and learning activities, which brings good values for learners.

In his closing remarks, Dr. Tran Trong Dao, Acting President of TDTU sent the sincere thanks to AUN-QA assessors, AUN-QA council members and secretariat for their effort during this time to conduct the online assessment of TDTU’s three programs. Assessors’ comments and recommendations are useful for TDTU, faculties and programs to be fully aware of the strengths and weaknesses to develop actions plans for continuous quality improvement.
