Young voters of Ton Duc Thang University participating in the election of National Assembly and People's Council delegates

On the morning of May 23, 2021, in harmony with the exciting atmosphere of nationwide voters, a large number of students at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) Dormitory eagerly and proudly held their ballots to vote for delegates of National Assembly and People's Councils (People's Councils) at all levels for the term 2021 - 2026.

There are two polling stations held inside TDTU campus, for boarding students at the University dormitory. Polling station number 62 has 816 voters, polling station 63 has 759 voters.

The epidemic prevention and control were seriously conducted with measures such as regular spraying of disinfectants at polling stations and voting booths. All voters must wear a mask, make a health declaration, take temperature measuring, and disinfect their hands before going to the instruction desk to do the voting procedures. The distance between two people was always guaranteed from 2 meters or more. The voters were informed to go to the polling stations in cohorts at different time. In addition, the space of 2 halls in the University dormitory is quite large, so the atmosphere is always fresh.

Cam Nhung, a boarding student at the dormitory, shared her feeling for the first time voting the National Assembly: "I am still quite surprised, so I have to ask for the guidance from the support staff here. For the control of the epidemic, the election team has prepared very carefully. Everyone must make a health declaration before being able to receive the ballots. The information sheet on the background and action plan of the candidates also play a significant role for young voters like us to convey the faith expressed through the votes in the most correct way.”

When asked about her feelings when participating in the voting for the first time, Nguyen Thi Thanh, a third-year student of the Faculty of Business Administration, said that she felt proud that she had directly contributed to the important works of the nation. She wanted that the elected delegates would perform their duties well, worthy of the trust that voters have given them.

Huynh Huy Hoang, a first-year student of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, said: "I feel very different, proud and aware of my growth when I first vote. Hopefully the delegates will do right, even better than what is shown in each person's action plan, bringing the highest benefit to all classes of people.”
