Ton Duc Thang University students win 3 out of 4 prizes at the Rethinking Plastic Competition

On the evening of March 18, 2021, the final round for awarding creative ideas for the Rethinking Plastic Competition took place at ISHCMC Secondary Campus. The competition attracted the participants of many major universities in Ho Chi Minh City.

In the finale, the students majoring in Organic Materials from Faculty of Applied Sciences, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) excellently won 3 out of 4 awards of the competition. Among them, two projects won the award for the best idea as follows:

The project “Plastic roller system for lane separation” of Tensai team is about lane sharing roller system in the inner city using plastic waste to reduce injuries caused by traffic accidents.

The project “Absorbent from EPS waste” of the Green Dreamer team is about recycling PS plastic for oil spill absorption, environmental treatment.

The Rethinking Plastic Prize was launched by many multinational companies such as Unilever, Heineken, Starbucks, etc. to find out innovative ideas and designs in reusing plastic waste in an environmentally friendly way.
