On November 25, 2020, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held the opening ceremony of the academic year 2020-2021 at Nha Trang campus. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Tran Trong Dao, Representative of TDTU; Ms. La Vu Thuy Linh, Deputy Head of Department of Undergraduate Studies; Ms. Dang Thi Kim Anh, Deputy Head of Department of Student Affairs; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang, Vice Chairperson of Khanh Hoa Confederation of Labor; Mr. Tran Ngoc Anh, Head of Department of Personnel and Administrative Affairs of Khanh Hoa Department of Education and Training together with lecturers, staff members and more than 200 students of Nha Trang campus.
During the opening ceremony, the university awarded scholarships of 100% of the tuition fee for the new academic year to valedictorian Tran Hoang Quang Din, Faculty of Information Technology, with an admission score of 35.20. The university also rewarded students with outstanding achievements in the previous academic year and freshmen with high English admission scores in the 2020 enrollment phase. In particular, TDTU also provided scholarships for students from 4 North Central provinces suffering from storms and floods.
On this occasion, the university leaders also honored the lecturers who have worked and contributed to the development of the university in the past 10 and 15 years. Students offered flowers of gratitude to the representative lecturers of departments and faculties.
Despite the difficulties resulted from Covid-19 epidemic, the quality of admission has been growing. The university has welcomed 366 new students to Nha Trang campus in 7 majors including English Language, Marketing, Business Administration (Hospitality), Law, Accounting, Software Engineering, Vietnamese studies (Tourism and Travel). This is the 5th year that TDTU has implemented the training program in which the first 2 years are carried out at Nha Trang campus.
