Workshop: Developing English teaching materials, research and culture overview

On the morning of 27 December 2019, the Creative Language Center (CLC) ​​of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) organized Workshop: Developing English teaching materials, research and culture overview. This is one of the Center's regular academic activities to improve the quality of English teaching for the Center’s teachers, thereby continuously improving the quality and effectiveness of English learning for students.

The Workshop firstly aimed to raise the awareness of lecturers about analyzing English teaching materials and adjusting skills to suit each student. The speakers of the Workshop included Dr. Tony Waterman, Lecturer of University of Essex (UK); and Dr. Bao Dat, Lecturer of Monash University (Australia), who are long-time experts in English curriculum design and teaching.

During the Workshop, Dr. Tony Waterman introduced the common points of English teaching curriculum as well as pointed out the inadequacies when applying a common curriculum without adjusting to suit the background of students. Dr. Bao Dat instructed a number of adjustment methods to make teaching materials more friendly and approachable to help students feel more comfortable and interested in the curriculum.
