Opening a new course and awarding a Doctoral Degree in a two-stage educational program

On the afternoon of October 7, 2019, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held a ceremony to open the new course and award doctoral degrees to students who have completed the two-phase doctoral program (a 2-phase doctoral training cooperation program between TDTU and universities of the Czech Republic).

The ceremony was attended by Prof. Petr Saha, Vice President of Tomas Bata University; Prof. Ivan Zelinka, lecturer at Ostrava Technical University, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Advanced Engineering and Computation (JAEC); Prof. Jan Masak, Deputy Dean, Faculty of Food and Biochemical Technology, Prof. Alena Cejkova, lecturer in Biotechnology Department of University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague; Dr. Tomas Saha, Director of Chiromed Company, Czech Republic; Ms. Pauline Carreau, Head of International Relations Department and Ms. Yasmine Nobre, Exchange campus specialist of IPSA Technical College, France. Representatives of the Board of Directors, Leaders of the European Cooperation Center, and Leaders of the Faculties, together with TDTU's new doctoral students, new doctors and their relatives also attended this important event.

In the academic year 2019-2020, 15 PhD students will be admitted to the 2-phase doctoral program of TDTU cooperating with Tomas Bata University, Ostrava University and University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague. The ceremony also honored 06 new doctoral graduates: Nguyen Nhat Tan, Tran Cong Thinh, Phu Tran Tin, Nguyen Thuy Lan Chi, Nguyen Hoang Sy and Huynh Tan Phuoc, who successfully completed the training program and were awarded a doctorate degree.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Petr Saha, Vice President of Tomas Bata University, said that “I believe in the continued success of the two-phase doctoral training program between TDTU and universities in the Czech Republic”. The professor also encouraged the Vietnamese PhD students to strive for a balance between work and study to achieve the best results.
